A mi no me gusta.

Al principio pensaba q era un metal gear, luego me ha parecido un gears of war. luego cuando ha empezado con los combos de cuerpo a cuerpo directamente no tengo ni idea de lo q estoy viendo.

“I have seen things in the original DOTA that you people wouldn’t believe”. “I have seen Windrunner attack Techies off the bank of the upper river and die; I have seen heroes on fire off the shoulder of the Tree of Life. I watched spells glitter in the dark near the enemy base. All those moments are lost in battle, like… items off a courier in an AOE nuke.”

en mi opinion creo que se van a estampar contra la pared, su intención era crear una nueva IP y ser independientes

    FAQ

    on: April 28, 2016, 03:37:20 PM
WHAT IS RAIDERS OF THE BROKEN PLANET?
Raiders of the Broken Planet is a 4vs1 Online third person shooter. Raiders is also a grand sci-fi adventure set on a broken alien planet, invaded by a motley crew of human mercenaries searching for The Aleph.

In Raiders, players may fight the invaders teaming up with other Raiders, or turn the tables and storm into battle with those invaders fighting at your side!

The Aleph is a mythical substance that only exists on the Broken Planet. It enhances combat prowess, reduces stress and heals wounds. All players can make use of Aleph but often this will involve obtaining it from other players and that means getting up close and personal in a brawl.

We like to call it a western in space. Think “The Magnificent Seven” with a heavy 80’s pulp sci-fi aesthetic. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, this is a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Add a dose of Spanish comic book, a sprinkle of Japanese manga and you have Raiders in a nutshell!

IS THERE A SINGLE PLAYER MODE?

Yes, you can play the game completely solo if you wish, although you won’t gain the rewards you would if playing in multiplayer. This game has a rich story and offers a compelling single player experience but the real meat and potatoes is in the 4vs1 multiplayer.

In Raiders, you live the adventure the way you want: If you want to be the good guy, you can play “solo” or choose to band together with up to three other players and battle through the story led campaign missions together; If you feel evil on the other hand, switch sides and then storm into any one of those missions fighting alongside the bad guys instead.

This is the 4vs1 aspect that adds a unique twist to the gameplay. Raiders is a blend of adventure and online cooperation. Live the adventure alone or with friends, but be aware that other players will join the other side and help your enemies reach their goals. The bounty will be plenty while raiding the Broken Planet, new characters, weapons and character customizations await.

    TELL ME MORE ABOUT STORY.
Story is a key component and this game whether you play solo or multiplayer.

A long time ago, an ancient civilization discovered a fabulous energy deep within their world: The Aleph. Blinded by ambition and desire they mined this Aleph relentlessly, reaching the planet’s core where the source of the Aleph lay, but when attempting to channel this source, the Aleph expanded with incredible force, breaking the structural integrity of the Planet. Millions died in a matter of minutes.

Horrified by what they had done, they abandoned this technology that had broken their home world and instead began to transform themselves into peaceful beings.

Fast forward to now and human scientists have discovered the existence of Aleph. A powerful, dark corporation manages to keep the discovery secret and organizes a mercenary expedition to seize control of the Aleph. But after the long journey, their Mother Ship is stranded on arrival and they suddenly find themselves trapped on the Broken Planet, like castaways on an uncharted island.

To get back to Earth, the humans need to develop Aleph based Warp Drive technology. The human commanders determine to steal this technology from the locals, but the locals gave up trying to conquer space ages ago and that technology is long forgotten to them now. The rumor that the expedition is therefore trapped on the Broken Planet soon spreads and conflict breaks out amongst the humans.

Several factions bunker down in their own territories and fight ferociously for absolute domination of the planet and its resources. The locals can't do much to expel the humans from their dying planet. They’ve left their aggressive traits far behind and, despite their vast knowledge of the Aleph, they’ve never used it to defend themselves or to attack others. Only a few, led by local hero Harec, resist the invader.

Harec trusts that he can inspire his countrymen by example, but the truth is they are no match for the ruthless human invaders that now roam their world. Yet Harec has a plan and a list of names: They are unique human warriors, legendary mercenaries and rogues who came to the Broken Planet to make their fortune, but who now might have reasons to change sides and fight alongside him. All Harec has to do is find them and convince them to join him.

CAN OTHER PLAYERS AFFECT MY GAME EXPERIENCE WITHOUT MY CONSENT?

The single player game cannot be crashed into, you will fight your way as the story unfolds and live the full Raiders of the Broken Planet experience uninterrupted if you desire to. You can also choose to play the story with other people, but you’ll have to step up to the challenge. Enemies will be stronger and each mission will require team-play and cooperation. It’s in these online games that other players may appear who will join the AI in a 4 vs 1 format.

In short, kill your enemies how you like but in order to loot them, you are going to have to earn it. Of course, enemies aren’t going to just let you waltz in and take their stuff, they’ll use their weapons, abilities and brawn to take you down too.

HOW MANY CHARACTERS DOES THE GAME HAVE?

Each season will introduce new characters for you to discover through your adventuring, they will then join the main cast of characters that are available to you. We plan to release new characters, weapons and other unlockable's periodically. New strategies and team compositions will emerge with this ever increasing roster of tools and characters. These characters will only be available to you after you hire them with in game gold or as part of each new season adventure.

IS RAIDERS A MOBA? IS IT A HERO SHOOTER?

We love MOBA’s and Hero Shooters but Raiders isn’t any of them: Each mission forms part of the story and what happens are one off events within the game world. There are no static sets of rules like MOBA’s traditional minions, lanes and bases.

Fighting involves guns and brawn. Each character has a completely different approach requiring either more aim, stealth or reflexes. Some characters do have special abilities but there are no spells to damage your opponents with.

WHY IS THE GAME SEASON BASED?

As we create this game, we want the community to contribute to it. This is best done in development “real time”. As we develop each season of the game, we involve the community in order to shape and influence the game and then we release each season, so people can play and continue to feedback allowing us to improve the overall experience. Our beta program allows us to work with players in a way that just wasn’t possible before and allows the audience a chance to get involved in game development as it happens.

Taking this approach is crucial for an independent studio like ours. It allows us to deliver high quality content, allows you to get involved and gives us some revenue to continue building and refining the whole experience. It's a win win!

WHY ARE YOU PUBLISHING THIS GAME AS AN INDEPENDENT?
We have always wanted to fly with our own wings. To have full creative control and responsibility on our own developed IP’s. To have a direct dialogue with gamers, to see what they want. Raiders is our chance to do just that.

HOW WILL MONETIZATION IN RAIDERS WORK AND IS THE GAME GOING TO BE FREE TO PLAY?
Raiders will be a premium title sold at an extremely competitive price point for each individual season. Raiders will not be the price of a traditional boxed product. The game will not be free to play either. There are no subscriptions or monthly fees.

Each season is a self-contained adventure and players don’t need to purchase all the seasons in order to continue to play the game. In addition, if you already own a season, subsequent seasons will be discounted for an initial period of time.

Our goal is to continue to support the game as long as there is a demand, this means new content will continue to be developed based on the community’s feedback for the foreseeable future.

HOW WILL DISCOUNTS WORK ON THE NEWER SEASONS? IS THERE A SEASON PASS?

We really want players to come along with us on this journey, that’s why subsequent seasons will be discounted, for a period of time, when a new season launches, available to anyone that owns any of the previous seasons. There is no specific season pass option, we want anyone who is living the experience with us to effectively enjoy a season pass for as long as they want to.

    WILL RAIDERS HAVE MICRO TRANSACTIONS?

Raiders will have micro transactions for cosmetic in game items. Customers who wish to invest extra money into the game won’t have any gameplay advantage nor any statistical benefit from customers who choose not to. We believe premium games are the best way to deliver quality experiences without gating of any kind.

Cosmetic items are there to allow those players who wish, to customize their characters. In doing so, they help support the future development of the game. This support will allow us to continue to create content for future seasons, as well as continuing to expand the roster of unlockable characters and weapons available to everyone playing the game, regardless of how many seasons or micro transaction they have purchased.

WHEN IS THE GAME COMING OUT?

After the public beta tests are complete, we will announce the release date for season one shortly after.

ARE YOU DEVELOPING RAIDERS EXCLUSIVELY FOR PC OR WILL RAIDERS ALSO RELEASE ON OTHER PLATFORMS?
The game will be released on Windows PC and current generation home consoles.

WILL RAIDERS BE AVAILABLE ON STEAM?

Yes. Raiders will be available on Steam and in addition on the Windows Store too. Other digital platforms may be added by popular request.

WHAT AGE RATING DO YOU EXPECT RAIDERS TO HAVE?

We expect Raiders to be Mature rated in the US and PEGI 16 in Europe.

WHICH COUNTRIES WILL THE GAME BE AVAILABLE IN?

We envisage making the game as widely available as possible but certainly North America, Europe, Oceania and LatAm initially. Any additional territories will be announced later.

WHAT LANGUAGES WILL THE GAME SUPPORT?
Currently English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. If more languages are requested, we will consider adding them.

HOW MANY HOURS OF CONTENT WILL I GET FOR EACH SEASON?

We think players can expect around 4 hours of new content per season with a very high replayability when playing online multiplayer and new characters to unlock.

After you complete each mission, you will be able to go back and replay it in a different way, for example join up with friends or crash uninvited into someone else game, “invasion” style with the bad guys and boss characters fighting at your side.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE STUDIO? ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO GIVE INTERVIEWS OR DEV DIARIES?

Yes! Our team will be regular visitors here on the forums and we will be doing lots of blogs and interactions with our community. This game will be jointly developed by MercurySteam and our community of players.

    WHEN IS THE CLOSED BETA?

We have already started collecting registrations for the first public test phase. We will be announcing more details soon including when the first of many rounds will begin, so stay tuned.

WILL YOU BE DOING A CONSOLE BETA?

Yes, we plan a full beta testing cycle on home consoles too. We will release more details soon.

CAN I PURCHASE A CLOSED BETA KEY?

Anyone can sign up for the chance to participate in our public tests for free. The current beta program is part of our improvement cycle and as such, will not deliver the quality experience of the final game. Close control of the number of participants is also part of this process.

We are studying further ways to include everyone interested in participating in the future and we hope many of you will get the chance to play and contribute over time.

WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDED PC SPECS?

We hope to reveal them very soon.

WHICH ENGINE DOES THE GAME USE?

As in our previous games, we will be using our own internal engine and technology. We will be sharing more details through our forthcoming developer blogs.
