Hello, this is my first post here. Forgive me if my question has already been asked, there is so much information on this forum, I don't know where to find the answer.

A bit of background first. I used to own a DS lite, but I had to sell it due to financial problems. Now I'm in a position to buy a new DSi XL, which I've reserved to pick up from the store tomorrow.

When I had my DS Lite, I had an R4 Deluxe Revolution with a 4gb micro SD card loaded with games, which worked perfectly. I still have the cartridge, but my gut tells me that it is not going to work with my new DSi XL, can anybody confirm this for me?

My next question is: Is there any later firmware that can be downloaded to make the R4 work with the new DSi XL? and if not, can anybody recommend a new cartridge, and where I can purchase one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chris

r4 isn't compatible with dsi or dsixl. Ya need 2 have r4i or otha similar. Da best cartridge with da best quality/price relation is acekard 2i.

My tailor is not rich, and he bought a DsTwo for his NDS-XL. He though that the GBA emulator pays off the tiny economic difference with the Acerkard. And what the hell, it was easier to find in his usual shop.

My cigarette is finished, and my sister is in the garden with the doctor. She is not ill, they are only playing doctors.

To good Doctor who plays with your sister in the garden, kick in the balls.

The R4 is a pretty old flashcart model, so it won't work on your DSi XL. Pretty much all flashcarts that came out before the DSi won't work on this and the XL version.

As all the adove comments say, you'll need to buy another flashcart. SuperCard Two is a pretty good choice, since it supports unpatched backups and Snes/GBA emulation thanks to an additional processor chip.

PS: Posting in english here feels a little awkward

when a cartridge is pretty old... means that is beautifully aged? XDDDD
