Update (Oct 17th): The GP2X Wiz is now expected to launch in the end of November 2008. First production run quantities are limited and a second shipment is only scheduled by the manufacturer for the end of January 2009. So in order to enjoy your new GP2X Wiz console during the holiday season, ensure to submit your preorder on time!
Over the last years Gamepark Holding’s Linux based handheld console GP2X has established a vibrant community of fans, especially among technology lovers and open source programmers.
The GP2X family has been known as a multi-purpose platform for all kinds of multimedia applications. A comfortable e-book reader, a multi-media player for movies and music, a gaming console for commercial and homebrew games and even a PDA like organizer, the GP2X can be always by your side.
The new GP2X Wiz continues the line of handhelds and takes it in many aspects to a whole new level. Powered by a 533Mhz 3D accelerator plus flash engine, equipped with a touch screen monitor, 1 gigabyte of flash memory and finally introducing a long serving rechargeable lithium battery, the GP2X Wiz is a major upgrade to its predecessor, the GP2X F200.
The GP2X Wiz comes with 12 in-built games (including demos of upcoming releases).
