Alguien lo ha provado ,dicen que esta de **** madre ,pero que te puede borrar la bios del chip y deja inutilizada la particion f para juegos y la verdad no me quiero arriesgar a ***** ni el chip ni la particion

Pues va a ser que si.. pero ojo, no todos los lectores de la XBOX leen CDR, con lo que puede que los VCD no los pille ni el XBMC ni el Gentoox, pero OGM, MKV, y todo eso.. lo pilla TODO. Hasta con multiples idiomas.

si cada mes como mucho actualizo mi XBMC y para mi es el mejor ,pero en teoria el linux medi acenter es capaz de ripear un dvd al hd mientras ves una peli y no se que mas istorias ,a pate con la vga no puedo configurar la salida a 1024*768 que es la maxima resolucion que da mi preoyector DIY ,y queria provar si con el otro podia,pero vamos que para mi quitando el detalle de la resolucion el XBMC es perfecto,a ver si sale el nuevo skin que es como el de la 360

no creo que la Xbox soporte 1024x768 (si, si la tengo, 3 además xD, aunque nunca la he conectado a un monitor ni a un proyector)

sí, yo lo tengo en 1024i, no se si te refieres a eso, o a resoluciones de películas. He probado algún trailer a 720p, y en algunos daba tirones.

De todas formas, tened en cuenta que el día 7 sale una nueva versión oficial, que se supone que traerá grandes novedades.

Buenas peña,
ando buscando info sobre el gentoox y he caido aqui...

en respuesta a la pregunta, yo he intentado instalarlo sin exito, no indagué más y lo que hice es instalar la version home y la verdad que la apariencia es la ostia, bueno, es como cualquier distro de linux para pc, pero con sus particulirades.

Hasta ahora usaba el XBMC que va de lujo, pero el navegador web es un truño en mayúsculas...bueno, el navegador web no tiene nada que ver con XBMC, sino q es una aplicación antigua que hicieron para la xbox.

El caso es que estaba pensando en comprarme un pc portatil para tenerlo en el salón, para poder ver partidos de rojadirecta en la tv..xDD y al final opté por ponerle un Linux a mi xbox y ando trasteando...de paso si alguien lo ha probado a ver si puede ayudarme en los problemas que me surgen, soy novato con gentoox pero no con Linux. El caso es que el gentoox tiene unas particulirades que no he encontrado en ubuntu por ejemplo. Aquí os las dejo:

1ero: No tiene un network manager para poder configurar la interface eth0, asi que tienes que ir editando archivos...mi problema es que conseguí que se conectara a internet, pero al reiniciar me encuentro que debo editar algun archivo de nuevo, pero esta vez no me conecta. Viendo foros en ingles de la web, he seguido los pasos pero nada. Cuando edit el archivo resolv.conf, guardo y reseteo la conexion...y vuelve a estar igual que al principio...hay una linea que dice algo asi que una tal ip 192.168.1.2 otorga ip via dhcp a la xbox, cuando deberia ser el router. No se si me explico...el caso que no se ponerle ip estatica y esto es un peñazo ya que no me da conexion con el exterior pero si con el router

2do- La resolucion. No hay manera de poder cambiarla, he ejecutado el xorgconfig, pero luego no se inicia el entorno gráfico. Alguien sabe como cambiarsela???

Bueno, este es el rollo...sigo haciendo pruebas, y si alguien quiere probarlo, yo se lo aconsejo, a lo mejor no se encuentra con estos problemas y le va de perlas. igualmente, les puedo ayudar si esta en mi alcance.
